Crystal Ball Events

On January 30th, 2010, enter the magical world of Landoll’s Academy of Sorcery and enjoy the yuletide Crystal Ball! Mingle with your fellow students and meet the professors. Learn a bit of the school’s history or partake in a beverage. After the feast, enjoy a stroll to the enchanted grotto or the fountain then dance the night away amongst the fairy lights. Who knows what surprises the evening may hold?

Ball Schedule

6pm: The Event Center Opens and the Crystal Ball Starts! Currently, check in for the ball will be as you enter the event center. Please have an ID with you!
6pm-7pm: Social Hour
7pm-12:00pm: Dinner and Dancing (An extra hour of frivolity has been added - the Ball will now continue until midnight!)
12pm: The Event Center Closes and the Crystal Ball ends (Alas!)

The Dinner

A delicious dinner awaits you all!

The Crystal Ball will have a gourmet open buffet, prepared by the top chefs from Landoll's Stepping Stone Restaurant. There may be one or two tweaks to the menu, but as of now we will have:

On the Open Buffet:
Prime Rib Au Jus – slow roasted to perfection
Roasted Herb Red Skins
Rice Pilaf
Butter Seasoned off the cob Corn
Green Beans with sautéed shallots & seasonings
Garden Salad with cranberries & sugared pecans with choice of mango chardonnay vinaigrette or ranch
Rolls & butter

This year, in addition to the buffet, we will be having appetizers presented of Tomato Basil Bruchetta and other selections. Desserts selection on buffet of pie, cake and cheesecake will be on the buffet. Ice tea or coffee will be available with no extra charge. Liquor, beer & wine available at the cash bar. This year, soda will be complimentary for all everyone, and we will have a few HP-themed non-alcoholic drinks!

The Dancing

This year's Crystal Ball will treat everyone to an excellent mix of Wizard and Muggle music compiled by the members of hp-ohio! There will be a lot of the evening set aside for both formal and fun dancing!

Extras:

1. All guests will receive a gift bag upon entrance and will be entered in a drawing to win a hand-carved wand!

2. The Potter Waltz, just like in the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, will be provided for your entertainment by our House Champions.

3. Opportunity for anyone who is interested to learn a basic waltz step and dance just like Neville!

4. - Special favor for those 21 & over – Crystal ball, hp-ohio Chocolate Raspberry Port Wine hand-made for you by the VoldieSquib vinyards!!!
